Be Safe - The Best Smoke/CO Alarm

By Randy Hollenbeck
Friday, Dec 26 2008, 04:48 PM

The First Alert ONELINK Talking Wireless Alarms are by far the best Smoke/CO Alarm I have seen on the market.  The ones I picked up from Ace in Oak Creek was the First Alert Onelink combination smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector.

What makes the Smoke/CO Alarms the best is the fact that they talk to each other wirelessly.  So, if a fire is detected in the basement the ones on the other levels will also tell you about.  Now they are not cheap.  Each unit was 69.99 at Ace.  Wal-Mart, Target and K-Mart didn’t seem to carry them at the time I bought mine in fall.  They do come in different models without the CO and such.

I should have written about this much earlier as they would have made great Christmas presents.  However, if you get some cash for Christmas I would recommend them.

Here is what the website from First Alert has to say about them.

ONELINK Talking Alarms - Tell You Where the Danger is.

ONELINK wireless alarms talk to each other and they talk to you!  Our "voice warning with location" technology means that integrated ONELINK alarms tell you where the danger is in your home with an actual voice.  For example, if there is fire in your basement, the alarm in your bedroom will speak 'Warning, Evacuate, Smoke in Basement."

ONELINK: The Earliest Warning

In an emergency, seconds count.  ONELINK integrated wireless alarms communicate with each other and sound together wherever they are located in your home, so you'll receive an earlier warning of potential danger.  This is compared to stand-alone alarms, which you may not easily hear if you are on the other side of your house or asleep.

Interconnectivity, Without the Wires!

If you want the benefits of an integrated smoke and carbon monoxide alarm system, without the cost and hassle of retrofit wiring in your home, consider a ONELINK integrated wireless alarm system.  ONELINK alarms communicate with each other wirelessly through integrated radio frequency.  When one sounds, they all sound, providing a whole-home safety network!

9          Happy Baby Books

8          Corn Starch Free powder (will not feed the bacteria yeast)

7          Triple Paste and Destin (You will need both for different rashes)

6          Spill Proof Cups

5          Baby Monitor to listen to breathing

4          Hooded Baby bath towel

3          Silicone nipples - No matter which bottles you use get

2          Wipe warmer (We had Munchkin Standard Wipe) - Cold wipes are shocking to the baby's skin and cause a lot of upset.  These warm wipes are soothing and not shocking.

1          Oxiclean Baby for washing clothes - I find it is AMAZING, I can imagine how many outfits would have been ruined without us having it.  I gets out everything I swear and is not harsh at all and doesn’t irritate baby.  It also works without having to sit for a day. Just spray it on and wash so easy.

Remember not to use harsh detergent and no fabric softener, which will irritate the baby’s skin and remove the fire protection in the clothes.  I also love the magnetic locks for cabinet doors.

Two Time Saving Items - May

By Randy Hollenbeck

Day 22 – Still No real response from the Mayor – It is still not too late

After getting good views and emails about the last time I did a product review “Two Must Have Items I will try and do it monthly.  The pillow at Wal-Mart keeps selling out.  I need to pick up another for my wife.

Kaboom Never Scrub continuous toilet cleaning system

It is a new item and is refillable.  Sells for about $9

It installed in less than a minute (just as the directions say) and I have been using it for two months and is doing a great job keeping the toilet clean.  The cartridges work for 3 months and cost around $6-7 range.  Has a sticker to remind you when to change.

The water is safe if the pet drinks it or the kids play in it, but it still is not recommended that either take place.  It has no color, but does have a slight bleach smell.

They have a setup video @ http://www.kaboomkaboom.com/index.m

The second is Shout Action Gel Advanced spray

Very effective product in getting out tough stains from clothes that are set-in or washed/dried and missed.  14 fl oz blue bottle sells for under $4

The package states “Wait up to 5 minutes for the gel to penetrate the stain.  Set-in stains will need to be soaked overnight or up to 7 days” It works very well.

Winner of the Good Housekeeping 2008 good buy award

I would pickup both as you shop around.  They are time savers and worth the money.
