3-D DESIGN CAMP will be held on Mon-Thu, August 4-7, 1:15 –2:30PM in the Senior High School Art Room #2355.  When attending class, enter the building through door #34.

The camp fee is $26 for residents and $39 for non-residents.  We encouraged you to sign up NOW as the class size will be limited.

Make swimming an important part of your child’s life!!  Swimming lessons will give your child a good start in learning to enjoy the water as well as learning the skills necessary for its use as a lifetime sport.  Swim classes are designed to teach and improve skills to instill a positive and safe attitude toward water.

The session will meet on meet on July 7-18 for 8 classes with no class on Wednesday, July 9 and 16.

Pre-beginning, 2-5 years old with parent will meet at 1:30-1:55PM.

Level 1, 6 years and older will meet at 2:00-2:40 PM.

Level 2 & 3, 6 years and older will meet at 2:45 -3:25PM.

Spike your way to success!  Discover volleyball at its best!  Participants will receive instruction and training in the basic individual skills of passing, setting, serving, spiking, blocking, and floor defense, as well as an introduction to team defense and team offense.

The DAYTIME T-BALL BASEBALL INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM is again being offered for boys and girls ages 4-6.  Classes and games will be held on Wednesday evening from July 7-10 at Rawson Field.  The class will meet at 9:15-10:30am. 

 

T-ball is the same as baseball, only played without a pitcher.  A soft type of baseball is used in this program and players will receive instruction on rules, fielding, running, batting, throwing, and conditioning.    Players should provide their own fielder's glove and wear tennis shoes.

Experience the basic skills and etiquette of cheerleading and discover new and exciting routines set to music with the aid of pompon.    The participants also learn the newest jump, yells and cheers.  Camp will be held Monday - Thursday, July 28-31 in the Senior High Fieldhouse on the North Court. Class is scheduled for beginners from 6-12 years of age from 9:15 to 10:30am.

Rawson School Gym will be site for the annual ITTY BITTY BASKETBALL CAMP to be held from 9:15-10:30am, Monday-Thursday, July 28-31, 2008.  This camp is sponsored by the South Milwaukee Recreation Department.  Don't miss out on all the fun! 

The Rawson Field will be the site of the annual Archery Tournament.  The tournament will be held Friday, July 25 for boys and girls in the following age brackets: 12 and under; 13-16; and an open division.  The tournament will begin at 1:15pm however, 13-16 and the open division may report at 2:30pm.

Medals will be awarded for 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place, while Ribbons will be awarded for 4^th, 5^th, and 6^th place.

Office is located just inside of door #24 and the building is labeled COMMUNITY RECREATION & FITNESS CENTER.

All ticket purchases must be paid in cash.

The South Milwaukee Recreation Department is accepting registration from current 5^th, 6^th, and 7th graders who will be going into 6^th, 7^th and 8th grade who are interested in playing tackle football in the fall of 2008.

This class is designed to introduce children 6-14 years to basic drawing skills and techniques. Lessons will cover various media to create abstract pieces of art; colored pencils, crayons, markers, chalk pastels, paints, etc. A smock or old shirt is suggested.

Archery Camp is set up to introduce children to the sport of archery as well as to reinforce skills and techniques already acquired.   Fundamentals, rules, and safety will be featured. This camp will be held at the Rawson Field, Monday through Thursday, July 21-24 Archers ages 6-8 will meet from 9:15-10:30am.; while archers 9 year & older will meet from 10:30-11:45am. The Recreation Department will provide the necessary archery equipment for participants who do not have their own.
